Staff Bios:
Dr. David Softly
Dr. Softly attended college at the University of Minnesota. He has been practicing medicine for 15 years. Dr. Softly relocated to Oregon after the 1997 passage of the Death with Dignity Act which made it legal for Oregonians to end their lives through the voluntary self-administration of lethal medications as prescribed by a doctor. Dr. Softly has a strict policy of adherance to this law and only prescribes medications to proven terminally ill patients after he does his own medical evaluation.
Jackson Brown
Despite holding numerous degrees and a PHD, Mr. Brown refuses to call himself a "doctor" and also refuses to get a real job. Still living in the dorms, Jackson is Dr. Softly's closest confidant and friend. They have known each other for over 10 years since Dr. Softly first came to Portland and spoke at a class Jackson was attending at the University of Portland where he still attends (and lives).
Edwin
As the Call Center supervisor, Edwin comes to Dr. Softly with years (2) of management exerperience (as an assistant shift lead at Burger King). He plans to climb the management ranks of corporate American and considers his call center job a big stepping stone to bigger and better opportunities.
Lena
Lena refused to give us an biographical information and instead told us to "suck it" and that's she's "not giving the man anything he wants". We do knwo that Lena has a knack for attacting herself to all things dead and dying which makes her an excellenct call screener for Dr. Softly.
Mortimer
Mortimer is vampire who originally hails from Romania. He admits he lost his accent centuries ago and that his "vampire" teeth are real and not implants. He claims that he doesn't have to sleep in a coffin and that some light exposure is okay because he slowly built up a tolerance to light through his centuries of careful living.
Mr. Zamboni (patient)
<
Mr. Zamboni is not really a patient but insists that he is terminally ill and won't stop harassing Dr. Softly with new imaginary diseases and mafia-like threats. Not much else is known about Mr. Zamboni at this time.
Jason (patient)
Jason is Christine's nephew and develops an uncommon interest in Lena. He leverages his relation to Christine with Dr. Softly and manages to work out a date. Jason first "met" Lena by calling the hotline and despite her laughing at him while on the phone, he kept coming back for more. It's possible that Jason is the only person Lena has ever met that owned an other color clothing than black.
